Honestly, I wasn’t expecting Astarotte to follow through with its premise. I’m surprised they even went through the effort of noting the kiss cop-out. I am quite happy that the show is a family drama, actually, as that’s a lot better than a harem show with a pornographic premise it simply can’t deliver on. Rets is quite disappointed, but we all know how he is, right?
I’m very pleased by how this show turned out. I usually watch shows like this more because I think the characters are cute than for the ecchi-ness. The fact that they toned down that plot point is a huge plus to me.

Something about the combination of Tina’s hairstyle and the punchline make this comic oh-so-right.
Aww, I was expecting an Excel Saga shout out in the last bubble until the very last word, but no such luck this time.
A kiss? I didn’t realize the anime was so different from the manga. The manga (as far as the translation I read went goes) mentions nothing of the sort, as far as I can remember.

Nah, the manga doesn’t have anything you couldn’t show on TV. Well I mean, except for maybe one guy who has a habit of exposing himself to the wrong people.
Well they probably didn’t want to suggest that a 10 year old had to fellate men on TV, hence changing it to a kiss.
Oh, they suggest it quite often on the show.” Hell, one character has more than once shown concern that Astarotte isn’t “sucking off” that guy yet.

They actually live in different places. I guess I’ve never specifically said it, but if you look closely you’ll notice that sometimes they’re in Rets’ place, and sometimes they’re in Tina’s place.
